Part Time/ Full Time Positions
Mackay Christian Care is seeking a Physiotherapist, Speech Pathologist or Occupational Therapist with a passion for improving the educational prospects of students with a disability. The candidate must possess exceptional communication and team-building skills, and a commitment to implementation of evidence-based treatments. The candidate must display excellent time management skills and have a flexible approach to service delivery. The successful applicant will bring energy and creativity to team-based planning and management of differences and deficits that restrict a student's access to a school's curriculum. The new employee will be instrumental in maximising students' learning and social participation in school settings.
Mackay Christian Care Ltd. provides allied health services to education teams across 22 schools in and around Mackay on the Central Queensland coast. The allied health team provides quality support to students with a disability in state, catholic and independent education facilities. Mackay Christian Care assists schools to improve the learning outcomes of its clientele through implementation of appropriate supports, including therapy-based interventions and educational adjustments.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Current APRHA registration or eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia membership.
- A proven record of delivering exceptional Physiotherapy, OT or Speech Pathology services.
- A flexible work outlook that embraces a transdisciplinary approach to service delivery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Appropriate paediatric experience.
- A current Australian driver licence.
- His/her own reliable motor vehicle available for work use (kilometric allowance provided).
- A current Blue Card (Queensland government Working with Children Check).
- Current individual professional indemnity and public liability insurance cover.
