About the Role
The Refugee Health Nurse plays a key role in the process of identifying and evaluating the key health related issues for a client/family. Utilising relevant principles of evidenced based practice, this may involve formal or informal assessment and intervention. This includes planning, implementing and monitoring progress of purposefully planned actions and goals designed with the intent of changing behaviour, risk factors, environmental conditions or aspects of the health status or development for a client/family.
This position will be classified under the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2016-2020.
About you
Your flexible engagement skills and adept verbal communication supports a responsive approach to peoples of diverse backgrounds and language. This may include experience in working with interpreting services. Your flexibility and ability to connect within a group environment will attest your suitability to this context. You have sound knowledge of nursing best practice, supported by community sector experience. Your reporting, accountability and written communication skills will be of a consistently high standard. You will possess a high level of integrity and have the ability to maintain confidentiality. People would describe you as being resourceful, accountable and constructive. This role requires an informed, compassionate approach, effective teamwork and commitment to quality.
