Senior Speech Pathologist (CYMHS) Position Summary JOB TITLE: Senior Speech Pathologist - CYMHS Eastern Health Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. We provide a comprehensive range of high quality acute, sub-acute, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care and community health services to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status, population and healthcare needs. About the role The Senior Speech Pathology will provide high quality clinical speech pathology assessment and consultation services, with a smaller amount of intervention, to children/young people and their families presenting with complex mental health needs to the Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS). The speech pathologist works within CYMHS multidisciplinary teams located across the Eastern Metoropolitan Region, primarily at Ringwood, Lilydale and Ferntree Gully to provide an integrated mental health – communication framework to support the recovery of young people accessing CYMHS services. This is a long service leave cover position, so we are open to both full time or part time hours depending on the needs of the applicant. The position will go for approximately 9 weeks in August and September 2018. About you To be successful in this role you should possess: The successful applicant will have formal qualification from a recognised School of Speech Pathology, or to be eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia. Minimum of five years post qualification clinical experience in child and youth public mental health. Ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate Speech Pathology assessment and treatment programs specific to child and adolescent psychiatry. Demonstrated ability to develop and provide professional leadership, consultation and education to team members, students and community agencies. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and interdependently as a member of a multidisciplinary team, with evidence of excellent conflict resolution skills. A high level of written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and to liaise and consult with community agencies, Detailed knowledge of the relevant legislation pertaining to Mental Health, Children, Youth and Families Acts, etc. What we offer Eastern Health offers a variety of fantastic Employee Benefits, view the extensive range here!
