About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker with experience supervising a team, who is passionate about working with children and adults with disabilities to join our team. The role is available as either part time or full time and includes:

  • Provision of therapy services to children and/or adults with disabilities, including developmental delays, autism and intellectual disabilities – dependent on the successful applicants skills, this could encompass other disabilities, including physical disabilities.
  • Conducting assessments and reporting as required by the National Disability Insurance Scheme, including completing equipment prescriptions and generating recommendations.
  • Program development, including development of group programs or centre based programs.
  • Provision of Support Coordination/Case Management services, including liaising with clients, their families and other services and external stakeholders, developing client budgets, assisting with times of crisis and collating and submitting reports to the National Disability Insurance Agency
  • Supervising and overseeing a team, including overseeing KPI's, professional development opportunities and managing staff feedback.
  • Monthly reporting to management on staff performance, training opportunities and growth areas.
  • Other duties as discussed with senior management.

Skills and experience

Key Criteria:

  • AASW Registration
  • Responding to Abuse and Neglect (RAN-EC) certification – or be willing to gain prior to commencing
  • Current Department for Communities and Social Inclusion – Disability Related Check
  • Experience supervising and managing a team
  • Experience working as a Support Coordinator or Case Manager

  • Experience working with adults with:
    • Autism Spectrum Disorder
    • Challenging Behaviours
    • Developmental and Learning Delays
  • Experience working within the NDIS field
