St Vincent’s Private Hospital, Lismore is a not-for-profit acute Surgical Medical Hospital operating under the auspices of the Trustees of The Roman Catholic Diocese of Lismore since 1921. Services include medical, surgical, HDU, palliative care, oncology, renal dialysis and rehabilitation, with childcare and aged care facilities also on campus. The hospital enjoys a reputation for high quality care. St Vincent’s is currently seeking a Director of Mission to work collaboratively with the team to provide a holistic, person centred care model through leadership and expert advice, whilst supporting the organisations Catholic mission and core values.
Director of Mission
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and the Cathedral Administrator the Director of Mission will be responsible for:
- Monitoring of the standards of practice in relation to spiritual care across the organisation
- Coordinate the support of the on-going faith journey of residents and patients within our facilities
- Provide ministry rituals and prayer as required
- Mentor Executive Leaders in the developing of skills in leadership of a Catholic Healthcare industry
- Contribute to quality systems within the organisations
- Evaluate the provision of spiritual care services to identify opportunities for improvement
To be successful, applicants will need to possess the following:
- Strong faith in Jesus and a deep understanding and practice of the Catholic Faith
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and mentoring to staff
- Extensive experience of providing person-centred pastoral and spiritual care
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated sensitivity and emotional intelligence
