The Hospital
Owned and operated by Ramsay Health Care, Australia's largest private hospital operator, The Avenue Hospital is a 131 bed acute care hospital, centrally located in Windsor, Melbourne.
The Avenue has earned a reputation as a leader in its field through a commitment to technological advancement and innovative approaches to the provision of quality healthcare.
In addition to being regarded as one of Australia's premier joint replacement facilities with an established orthopaedic robotically assisted service, The Avenue also provides services in Bariatric/Obesity Surgery, Dermatology, ENT, Endoscopy, General Medicine, General Surgery, IVF, Ophthalmology, Oral & Maxillofacial, Orthopaedics, Plastics / Reconstructive Surgery, Spinal Surgery and Urology.
There are 11 operating theatres, a Dermatology procedure room and an Endoscopy room. Support services include a 4 Bed HDU, in-house RMO cover and onsite state of the art diagnostic imaging facility including MRI, Ultrasound and CT and pathology services.
The Hospital has recently undergone a major redevelopment including the addition of 3 new theatres and an expanded PACU and Day Services Unit.
The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Resident Medical Officer (RMO) to join our team on a casual basis. Day & night shifts available across 7 days.
Responsibilities
As the RMO you are responsible for managing all aspects of clinical support to the Hospital including:
- Review of patients in liaison with the admitting VMO
- Writing up drug charts & admitting patients
- Respond to and manage Code Blue events
- Provide senior clinical support and mentoring
Essential Criteria
Successful applicants must possess:
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Minimum three (3) years’ advanced surgical and orthopaedic experience (experience in the acute private hospital setting preferable but not essential)
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and autonomously when required
- Commitment to improvement and excellence in the delivery of outcomes
