  • 6 month contract (with the possibility to extend)

About the Role:

 .

Are you a highly motivated individual with a demonstrated interest in person-centred care? Would you, as a skilled occupational therapist, like to work as part of a dynamic, supportive multidisciplinary team?

 

You will be working mainly in the NDIS service, providing therapeutic supports to people with Progressive Neurological Diseases. Calvary Health Care Bethlehem is a specialist provider of interdisciplinary assessment and management for people with complex needs due to a diagnosed progressive neurological disease such as Motor Neurone Disease, Huntington’s Disease, Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinsonian Syndromes. You will be supported by experienced occupational therapists and a team passionate about providing excellent care.

 

You will visit NDIS participants in their homes, and provide recommendations and organise assistive technology to enable them to participate in life as fully as possible. You will work with patients and their families from early in the disease, right through to the end of life. You will liaise closely with the rest of the Bethlehem team and with other care providers.

 

What you bring

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, professionalism and the ability to be self-directed
  • The ability to assess neurological patients, identify their changing functional status and devise and implement appropriate management plans and interventions.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Applicants must be eligible for on-going entitlement to work in Australia and hold a current and valid Victorian Driver's Licence.

About Calvary Health Care Bethlehem (CHCB)

 

Calvary Health Care Bethlehem is a 32 bed health care facility providing a range of inpatient community and ambulatory services for palliative care and progressive neurological conditions.  Calvary is proposing to redevelop the current CHCB Public Hospital as part of an integrated health precinct on its current site in Caulfield. 

The service integration model will encompass CHCB Specialist Services, Calvary Community Care and Calvary Aged and Retirement Services. 

From August, 2018 CHCB will relocate to an alternative site in Parkdale for approximataely 2 years, whilst the re-build on the Caulfield site is undertaken.
