The role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced, innovative and highly motivated Speech Pathologist to join the acute Speech Pathology services at Cabrini. Successful applicants will have a proven ability to lead and supervise staff as well as student clinical education. They will demonstrate broad and strong clinical knowledge across adult acute caseloads. The successful applicant will be expected to work closely with members of the multidisciplinary health care team to ensure that delivery of all clinical services demonstrates excellence, quality, current evidence-based practice and the highest level of patient experience.
Key requirements for the role
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills; ability to influence change and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders including management, colleagues, consumers and external stakeholders.
- Well consolidated and broad post-graduate experience in the acute hospital setting (min 3 years)
- Experience in the assessment and management of adult communication and swallowing disorders for a range of etiologies including competency in tracheostomy management.
- Adult videofluoroscopy competency
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent time management skills and high degree of flexibility
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and/or mentor staff and students
- Demonstrated experience in the initiation, design and implementation of quality improvement activities

- Eligibility for membership to Speech Pathology Australia
- Working with Children check and Police Check

- Experience with outpatients.
