Located on the edge of Adelaide's CBD adjacent to the beautiful South Eastern park lands, St Andrew's is the largest independent private Hospital in Australia, with more than 30,000 procedures being performed each year. Specialties include, but are not limited to: neurosurgery, cardio-thoracic, orthopaedic, urology, general, colo-rectal, breast, gynaecology, ENT and vascular. Our patients are admitted electively or via our Emergency Service.

Our Theatres, Procedure Rooms and Angiography Suite cater for most surgical specialties which are supported by an Intensive Care Unit, High Dependency Unit and Cardiac Unit. 

Building on our successful base, we have recently opened a $50 million upgrade and expansion of our Procedural and Cardiac facilities. A multi level car park and staff gymnasium complete the project.

About The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, quality care driven nursing professional to join our Theatre Team in the role of Clinical Manager to cover parental leave for a period of 14 months with opportunity to extend to 2 years if required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive clinical management and the efficient and effective operation and running of the area with regard to human and material resources.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Fostering and developing a working environment which actively promotes the hospital’s ethos including a sound value of trust and respect for consumers, staff and other stakeholders.
  • Promoting a culture of clinical excellence that is based on person-centred care, working collaboratively with clinical, medical, administrative and allied health professionals to deliver high quality, safe patient care and services.
  • Motivating and engaging staff to participate in decision making.
  • Ensuring compliance with all legislation, standards, hospital policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, adherence to, and provision of education/guidance to staff on the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHSS)
  • Review of nursing policies and procedures in consultation with the Nursing Division.

Hours:

This is a full time position working predominantly Monday to Friday. Start and finish times may vary.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will have proven and significant experience in:

  • Leading a large clinical team
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with Visiting Medical Officers 
  • Managing human and financial resources to meet the operational requirements of the ward

In addition, candidates will need to demonstrate:

  • Registration as a Registered General Nurse with AHPRA
  • Recent and extensive Scrub/scout experience, preferably at management level, in one or more of the hospital specialties.
  • A knowledge and application of research processes in clinical practice
  • A knowledge and commitment to private enterprise

Post Graduate qualifications in a related field will be an advantage
