Remuneration value up to $178 119 p.a., salary of $156 113 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 12) (Permanent full time. Applications will remain current for 12 months). Job Ad Reference: RBH281983. Closing date: 26/07/2018. 

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) Requirements

It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment:

  • Measles
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella (chicken pox)
  • Pertussis (whooping cough)
  • Hepatitis B

Further vaccinations may be required due to particular risks for a role; examples include:

  • Hepatitis A – Workers in regular contact with untreated sewerage
  • Q Fever – Research or Laboratory staff regularly handling specimens

All new employees who will be working in clinical areas must be assessed for their risk of tuberculosis and screening undertaken if required.

Existing staff that are engaged prior to 1 July 2016 are not subject to this condition of employment unless they apply for a role with VPD requirements that is with a different Queensland Health entity (ie one HHS to another HHS, Department to a HHS, or HHS to Department). 

Purpose of the Role:

Be accountable for progressing Women's and Children's Stream priorities and initiatives in consultation with the Executive Director and the Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery Services. This role also assumes responsibility for strategic nursing and midwifery leadership, and innovation and excellence of Women's and Newborn Services and the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital nursing and midwifery workforce through: Provide strategic leadership, coordination and collaboration with Women's and Newborn Services Executive: Executive Director, Business Manager and Medical Directors of Obstetrics, Obstetric Medicine, Neonatology, Gynaecology, Gynae-oncology and the Centre for Breast Health in service planning, delivery of exemplary, quality focused cost- effective person/woman centred care, and workforce capacity and capability development. Assume accountability for effective clinical governance, strategic responsibility for managing nursing and midwifery workforce, processes, patient access, patient flow, capacity and efficiency, and for the progression of quality services, clinical standards and other initiatives in complex clinical environments.
