The Northern Endoscopy Centre is a well established, fully accredited private day hospital that specialises in gastroenterological procedures, including upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, capsule endoscopy and infusional therapies. Our philosophy is to put the patient first whilst striving to maintain the highest standard of medical care.
Due to continued growth, we are now seeking another full-time medical receptionist to join our enthusiastic and expanding team. The successful applicant will need experience in all aspects of medical administration and will be responsible for the following:
- Welcoming and greeting patients and visitors in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries;
- Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; reminding provider of service delays;
- Booking appointments and dealing with patient enquiries;
- Eftpos, Hicaps, DVA and Medicare care plan claims/processes;
- Organising correspondence and liaising with referring doctors and specialists;
- Typing medical correspondence for gastroenterologists / surgeons as required;
- Undertaking any other reception and administrative functions as required;
Ideally you should have:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar medical position;
- Experience working in a day hospital environment;
- Proven, strong organisational and communication skills;
- The ability to develop and maintain a strong rapport with practitioners and patients;
- Ability to use initiative and work unsupervised using sound judgment;
- Understanding of how to prioritise responsibilities and the importance of meeting deadlines;
- A proven ability to work independently, within a team, or in a collaborative relationship;
- Strong computer skills and experience with Mac / PC.
You will need to be available to work flexible hours between 6:30am-7:00pm weekdays (38 hours per week).
