About Day Treatment Centre & Endoscopy at Dandenong Hospital
The Day Treatment Centre at Dandenong Hospital is 12 bed unit open Monday to Friday. We are a fast paced exciting area that provides pre & post-operative care to day surgery patients of many different specialties. Within our Day Treatment Centre we also have the Endoscopy suit and day medical unit and are offering the opportunity to work across all areas.
About the Role
Working with all hospital departments to improve flow and patient experience, duties will include but are not limited to:
- Admissions and admitting patients to theatre
- Working anaethetic, procedure & recovery roles in Endoscopy
- Caring for patients returning from theatre until discharge
- Caring for patients from diagnostic imaging post angiogram, port insertion or nephrostomy
- Working with the infusion centre providing outpatient treatments including blood transfusion, bone marrow biopsies, ascetic tap drainage infusions across specialties which include gastroenterology, haematology and oncology
About you
With your engaging and caring manner, your skills and experience will include:
- Experience with Surgical Nursing, Endoscopy or in a Day Treatment Centre
- Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi task and think outside the box
- Ability to be a collaborative team player
