Social Work Team Leader – Specialties Team Employment Type: Temporary Full Time (up to 7 months) Position Classification: Social Worker Level 5 Remuneration: $111,329 - $114,113 per annum Hours Per Week: 38 Requisition ID: REQ54832 Where you'll be working Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing The primary purpose of this position is to provide a comprehensive social work service to patients and their families, of the Renal and Cardiology wards at Westmead Hospital and the provision of Team Leader management of the Specialities Team. The Level 5 Social Work Team Leader has recognised high level clinical skills and is able to perform novel, complex and critical clinical services to patients, families and carers with a high level of professional knowledge. The Level 5 Social Work Team leader is able to demonstrate advanced reasoning skills on circumstances of a complex nature requiring advanced practice skills, operates autonomously with minimum direct clinical supervision and has a consultative role within their area of speciality. They are responsible for managing a team with operational/supervisory tasks within the team, including planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting on clinical services and are involved in the implementation of WSLHD protocols, initiatives, policies and procedures People with disabilities who meet the selection criteria are encouraged to apply; and where required, WSLHD will implement reasonable adjustment consistent with industry standard. Essential Criteria: Vaccination Category: A Checks: National Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check Qualification: Bachelor of Social Work Registration: Eligibility for membership of Australian Association of Social Work Selection Criteria: Demonstrated high level knowledge and skills in social work assessment, crisis intervention and counselling with patients and their families in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with demonstrated skills relevant to coping with illness, disability and bereavement. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes. Well-developed time management skills, ability to work with minimum supervision, excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing skills and high level computer literacy. Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures for service improvement and skills in providing training and education. Demonstrated commitment to professional supervision, building professional skills and capacity, and willingness to seek appropriate guidance and direction. Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and implement quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff. Demonstrated experience in management and team leadership, including experience in staff and student supervision. Unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence and ability to participate in the After Hours Crisis On-Call Social Work Service. Need more information?
