Using your clinical knowledge and experience, you will support the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of safety and quality systems to improve the quality and safety of Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) services in line with the WCHN Clinical Governance Framework and System, WCHN Evaluation Framework and the National Safety & Quality Standards for Health Services. You will provide a leadership function to ensure optimum patient/client outcomes through monitoring performance, identifying, assessing and managing risk, monitoring of incidents and adverse events, facilitating clinical audit and supporting quality improvement. You will initiate and monitor systems that ensure adherence to all clinical reporting requirements and the delivery of various quality improvement projects, plans and evaluation activities that support the achievement of the Division’s safety and quality objectives. Driving organisational capability for quality systems in line with organisational strategic direction, you will facilitate organisational and divisional readiness for accreditation. This will involve developing and maintaining positive working relationships within and across the organisation and with external organisations. The Women’s & Children’s Hospital is a centre of paediatric excellence, and is committed to family focused models of care delivery. To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience in conducting and analysing clinical audit, and assisting a health service in meeting the accreditation requirements of a safety and quality program. You will be confident in leading teams to identify, assess and manage risk, utilising your ability to coach and supervise staff to undertake incident investigation using agreed methodology.

Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation will be essential.
