The Medical Education Officer in association with the Director of Clinical Training (DCT) and General Clinical Training Committee (GCTC), develops, coordinates, implements and evaluates prevocational junior doctor training initiatives and strategies, within an environment that is supportive of ongoing life-long learning, attention to personal well-being and professional responsibility.
This is achieved by;
- Identification and analysis of junior doctor needs.
- Development of education and training programs based on junior doctor needs
- Coordination of education and training programs for junior doctors
- Identification of and responsive to issues affecting the welfare of junior doctors
- Provision of counselling on professional and personal matters to junior medical officers as required
- Facilitating attainment of relevant Accreditation Standards
- Implementation of evaluation processes
- Liaison with key stakeholders in junior doctor training
- Collaboration with others involved with prevocational medical education both intra and interstate.
