More about the role

The role of the Clinical Educator works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure that Registered and Enrolled nurses within HammondCare’s Aged Care Business are appropriately equipped and supported to meet their individual role requirements and situational work challenges, and purposefully engage in positive career pathways.  This will be completed by collaboratively identifying training needs and training gaps across the Aged Care business of HammondCare amongst Registered and Enrolled Nurses. This includes consultation with the Hammond College, Operations Managers and Heads of Region to design and deliver professional development programs aligned with HammondCare’s philosophy and model of care.

The essence of this role:

  • To ensure registered and enrolled nurse are aligned with HammondCare philosophy and model of care
  • To assist the development of nursing skills across HammondCare’s residential and at home services to fulfil individual role requirements, and to provide excellent and responsive clinical care.
  • To maintain and enhance the professional pathway for nursing development in HammondCare
  • To oversee and coordinate professional development programs for Registered and Enrolled nurses across the Residential and HammondCare At Home services.

About You

  • Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.
  • Registered Nurse with current APHRA registration
  • Minimum 4 years Aged Care experience
  • Significant practical experience in a variety of nursing contexts and roles including residential care
  • Experienced in operating effectively in a multi-site environment. 
  • A current drivers licence and safe driving record.
  • Willingness to travel (including driving and flying) between HammondCare’s sites and services.
  • Strong administrative, report writing and computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Empathy and patience.
  • Current TAE or higher education qualification or working towards (within 4 weeks of employment)
