An exciting opportunity exists in our Bowen Region Collection Centre for an experienced Pathology Specimen Collector. This part time position could be required to work a minimum of 5 shifts between 07:30-15:00 Monday to Friday, with a minimum of 35 hours per fortnight.
The successful candidate will join a welcoming and professional team committed to patient care.
Your duties will include:
- Collection of blood and other samples from patients;
- Offsite commercial / occupational testing and collections (Urinary Drug/Alcohol screening, Pre/Post employment screening & hazardous substance monitoring etc);
- Packaging and dispatching of specimens;
- Stock maintenance;
- Greeting patients / customers and assist with appointments and request details;
- Receive payments and receipting of patient accounts;
- Provide advice on special requirements, preparation and instructions for tests; and
- Compliance and adherence with QML Pathology policies and procedures, and Workplace Health and Safety procedures.
You will possess:
- An outstanding patient / customer focus, including the ability to liaise with internal and external customers;
- A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures;
- Must be a cohesive and contributing member of the team and display positive attitudes towards achieving outcomes;
- Strong time management, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills;
- Attention to detail and accuracy;
- A current QLD Driver’s Licence; and
- Demonstrated experience in pathology specimen collection or a Certificate III in Pathology will be held in high regard.
