About the role

• The Environmental Health Compliance Officer position will be responsible for influencing community compliance through responsive, efficient and effective investigating, monitoring and enforcing of environmental health and local law standards  with particular focus on environmental nuisances, local laws, littering and illegal dumping.
• Contributing to the overall management of Council and working cooperatively with Council branches may result in future changes in team focus.
• If appointed at a Level 2, the Salary Range for this position is $56,429.68 - $61,123.43 gross per annum plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.4% supperannuation.
• If appointed at a Level 3, the Salary Range for this position is $62,723.36 - $67,525.85 gross per annum plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.4% superannuation.

How to be successful in this position - Success Criteria

1. The mandatory and desirable qualification(s), training and/or experience as outlined under the Success Criteria in the attached Position Description.
2. High level of adaptability and flexibility i.e. able to work outside ordinary hours and/or provide support to Toowoomba Regional Council as required.
3. An aptitude to identify and seek opportunities to improve and accept change where improvement is identified.
4. Capacity to research and collect appropriate data, prioritise work, use own initiative and contribute insightful, innovative and creative ideas to solve problems and make informed outcome focused decisions in a consistent, objective and timely manner showing diligence, care and attention.
5. Ability to undertake a range of activities including inquiries, investigations utilising evidence gathering techniques, initiative, judgement and decision making to achieve appropriate outcomes.
