About the Department
The Occupational therapy department is committed to providing high quality Occupational therapy services that are client centred; evidence based and uses occupation-based practice. The Occupational therapy team provides services across the continuum of care and is located across the two main campuses in Fitzroy and Kew. The department promotes a standard of excellence in clinical services, education and research within a cohesive and supportive team. Opportunities to engage in relevant professional development is provided and learning objectives will be overseen with the support of a senior supervisor. All new grade one therapists are provided with a grade one mentor and are supported by membership to the Grade one peer support group. This role is a permanent role in our Grade one rotation program, and is full time.
About the Role
An opportunity currently exists for Grade 1 Occupational Therapists to join the Occupational Therapy team in a Full Time short term role until approximately end of August, 2018. Accountable to the Manager, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and delivery of a high quality Occupational Therapy service within the multidisciplinary team to inpatients of SVHM.
Duties
- Provide optimal Occupational Therapy clinical management to all patients through the continuum of care by assessment, treatment, re-evaluation, documentation, team liaison and effective discharge planning
- Ensure effective management of Occupational Therapy aids and equipment to maximise patient independence and safety
- Contribute to the planning and development of activities and services of the Occupational Therapy Service
- Actively participate in departmental clinical supervision program
- Actively participate in the evaluation of the effectiveness of the Occupational Therapy service
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
- Current Occupational Therapy Board of Australia registration (AHPRA)
- Eligibility to Australian Occupational Therapy Association
- A current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Knowledge of and commitment to providing a comprehensive range of Occupational Therapy Assessment, intervention and case management services
