About the Opportunity:

Bupa Medical Visa Services provides health assessments in a professional, caring and respectful way. Our main service is the provision of visa and migration medical services to the Department of Home Affairs (Home Affairs). This includes on-shore immigration medical examinations through our 6 Bupa centres and a network of partner centres nationally.

The Role:

We have a vacancy for a Part-time Health Assessor to join our centre in Parramatta who is available up to 5 days per week:

  • Working Monday - Friday and occasional Saturday's.
  • 30hrs per week (6hr shifts)
  • Shift start times vary from 8am – 9.45am
  • Shift end times vary from 4pm-6pm

The Parramatta centre is located on Station street opposite Parramatta train station. The centres are open 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday and the occasional Saturday during our peak period (Feb – Apr).

This role would suit someone who is available to work up to 5 days per week and who has good flexibility to pick up Saturday shifts when required.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Senior Health Assessor, the Health Assessor will be responsible for providing quality health assessments to the Department of Home Affairs applicants. This includes;

  • Identity Check, blood pressure, height, weight, body mass index, vision testing, urinalysis and venepuncture
  • Facilitate smooth delivery of the applicants through the medical assessment to ensure a timely and accurate service
  • Adhere to clinical governance and associated policies and procedures
  • Accurate documentation of results in e Health record

Your Background:

You will have:

  • Certificate III or IV in Pathology or a Diploma of Nursing (mandatory)
  • Min 3-6mth Phlebotomy experience essential (mandatory)
  • Minimum 2-3 days availability between Monday-Saturday (mandatory)
  • Experience working with people of multi-cultural background
  • Immigration experience will be highly regarded
