The Opportunity

The position of Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing specialist therapy services to people with a disability, their families and/or carers within a person centred, strengths based approach. This is an internal position offering flexibility to work part-time or full time hours hours.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Provide direct services (Occupational Therapy) and staff training within Sunnyfield.
  2. This includes seating/wheelchair prescriptions, transport seating, sensory processing and environmental modifications, home modifications and functional skills development.
  3. Support the Senior Manager, Clinical Services in developing and improving practices and procedures of the Clinical Services Team.
  4. Ability to work collaboratively as a member of the Clinical Services Team.
  5. Develop a working relationship with ADHC, NDIA and other service providers.
  6. Collaborate with external Psychologists, Allied Health and Behaviour Support specialists.

 

Reporting to the Practice Manager, Clinical Services the successful candidate will have:

  • A recognised degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy;
  • General registration with the Australian Health Practitioner's Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
  • Successful experience working with and supporting children, young people, adult & ageing clients with a disability with services team;complex needs requiring specialised and complex intervention strategies;
  • Successful experience working with families in a family centred model;
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of the clinical team
  • Current driver's licence and willingness to use own comprehensively insured vehicle;
  • Current Working with Children's Check or willingness to obtain one.
