Position Summary
A career as a Mental Health Telephone Triage Clinician can be very rewarding, as you are the first point of contact for callers who may be experiencing a mental health emergency.

Peninsula Health Mental Health Service are seeking an innovative energetic and experienced Mental Health Telephone Triage Clinician.

The Mental Health Telephone Triage Clinician, as a member of the multidisciplinary team, provides comprehensive and timely telephone screening, triage and review of mental health status with the aim of categorising and referring clients to the most appropriate assessment and treatment option within either the Peninsula Health Mental Health Service or through an external service provider.

The Mental Health Telephone Triage service co-ordinates and/or facilitates face to face same day/next day assessment by the newly developed Access and Assessment Team (AAT). The AAT is a community based initial comprehensive assessment service that responds in a timely manner according to the mental health triage scale.

The Clinician works competently within their scope of practice to deliver safe, evidence based person centred care to achieve optimal health outcomes.

• Do you have the ability to work under pressure with competing demands within tight time schedules?
• Can you commit to working across all shifts times- 0830 to 2230?
• Can you use complex computer systems?
• Can you multitask in a busy and unpredictable environment?
• Can you manage the emotional impact of dealing with mental health emergency?
