An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated Health Information Manager to join and lead the Health Information Services Statutory Extracts Team at Northern Health, which is responsible for the submission and reconciliation of VAED, VEMD, ESIS and VINAH related statutory extracts. This position is responsible for contributing to the effective leadership of the Health Information Services Statutory Extracts team by demonstrating outstanding business, development and analysis skills.  The position is also responsible for the coordination of La Trobe Univeristy Health Information Management Students within Health Information Services.

   

This position requires a senior Health Information Manager with extensive experience in statutory extract reporting, excellent communication skills, high attention to detail and organisational skills who can work in a team environment, lead a team and relate well to all levels of staff. 

 

As the HIS statutory extract team covers a variety of extracts, the role will involve knowledge and support of multiple data submissions, as well as be involved in understanding and implementing key organisation priorities and internal monitoring of health service performance, by ensuring data supports decision making and data integrity.

 

The position is based predominately at Northern Hospital Epping, however the successful applicant may be required to travel to all Northern Health campuses.

 

 Essential:

• Bachelor of Health Information Management
• Experience in a senior Health Information Management role within a medium to large complex health service
• Experience with  Statutory Extract reporting
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff including external associates
• Attention to detail whilst still able to  work to deadlines

Preferred Criteria:

• Eligible for full membership with HIMAA
