About the role

The Registered Nurse Level 3 will manage, maintain and promote the professional standards of Nursing Practice within the Operating Theatre. The role is responsible for the management of the operational resources of the Unit having regard to the organisational objectives, policies and procedures, and meeting departmental KPI's. 

 

They will be responsible for providing mentoring and leadership to the clinical theatre team as well as being responsible and accountable for the proactive management of quality and safety, resources and finances for the department. 


This position reports to a liases with the Theatre Nurse Unit Manager.

 

Key responsibilities include the following:

 

• Leading the operating theatre team to provide excellence in patient care in a positive culture workplace

• An ability to organise self and others to achieve goals and objectives, and managing and supporting others to succeed in their roles

• Taking responsibility for the proactive management of quality and safety, resources and finances for the operating suite

 

What you bring  

  • Registration as a Division 1 Registered Nurse with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency)
  • Management experience in healthcare - especially in operating theatres would be desirable
  • Proven change management skills and outcomes 
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed leadership, communication and team building skills, and the ability to achieve a positive workplace culture.
    Demonstrated skills in quality & safety, resource and financial management.
