Where you’ll be working
 
At Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) we provide a range of public health services to the Riverina and Murray regions of New South Wales across a geographic area of approximately 125,631 square kilometres. With around 241,000 residents living within our District we employ approximately 3,500 staff who work in our 31 facilities and support services. Our facilities include a Rural Referral Hospital, Base and District Hospitals, Multi-Purpose Services and Community Health Facilities.
 
What you'll be doing
 
This new and exciting 4 day a week role is a permanent part time opportunity working across two locations and organisations, including Corowa Hospital and Mercy Care Albury. 
Primarily based at Corowa, the successful candidate will also be required to be located at Mercy Care in Albury working a four hour shift twice a week. The role may also support other MLHD hospitals in the border region.
 
The incumbent assists in the provision of a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service in accordance with the SHPA Standards of Practice for Clinical Pharmacy Services and supports medication safety practices and quality improvement initiatives in accordance with National Standard 4.
The role is part of a multi-disciplinary team and involved in the delivery of education and information to other health care professionals along with providing medicines information to patients and carers.
 
What we are looking for  

• Registered as a pharmacist authorised to practise by the Australian Healthcare Practitioner Agency (AHPRA).
  
• Post registration hospital pharmacy experience.
• Display judgement and demonstrate initiative and independence in problem solving.
• Demonstrated experience in contributing to quality assurance activities.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise other pharmacy staff (including students) and be responsible for the supervision of other pharmacists.
• Demonstrated ability to participate in teaching programs with other pharmacists, university students, nursing staff or other health care providers.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload in a dynamic environment.
• To meet Grade 2 criteria; has a postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy, hospital pharmacy or other relevant postgraduate qualification OR has 12 months experience in a specialty practice area (i.e. oncology, critical care, paediatrics, infectious diseases, research) OR able to demonstrate a higher level of clinical pharmacy practices as defined by the SHPA clinical Pharmacy Standards to the satisfaction of the Chief Pharmacist or equivalent Chief Pharmacist from another Health Service.
