THE ROLES

We are seeking expressions of interest from Senior Medical Physics Specialists to join the team in Western Australia as our services expand in and around Perth. ACPSEM-Certified, IPEM, HCPC, ABR, ABMP and CCPM qualified physicists are encouraged to contact us. As a guide, a Senior Medical Physics Specialist will have five or more years of experience post-certification/qualification.

This is a great opportunity to join a national team dedicated to innovation and excellence, and to play a critical and influential role in service development and ongoing support of the practices. We are increasing our fleet of 11 Agility-equipped Elekta linacs, and we utilise Pinnacle and Monaco TPS's, Mosaiq R&V, a Flexitron HDR afterloader with Oncentra TPS, a Gulmay Superficial X-ray unit, a range of GE CT simulators, and a suite of Sun Nuclear, IBA, and PTW QA equipment. We use PerFraction for most of our IMRT/VMAT QA. BrainLab's ExacTrac x-ray monitoring system will be rolled out in the next few months. You will be engaged in several projects across your service area and will have the opportunity to work with the team on commissioning linear accelerators and CT simulators across the sites.

As a member of our team your responsibilities will include quality assurance and radiation safety, and you will be able to apply your experience and expertise across special treatment techniques such as VMAT, IMRT, DCAT, DIBH, SRS, SBRT, TBI, IGRT, HDR and LDR brachytherapy, SXRT and more! Research leading to publications is encouraged and supported. A Senior Medical Physics Specialist will be expected to lead one or more specialty areas across our sites.

MINIMUM SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

  • Eligible to be on the ACPSEM Register of Qualified Physicists.
  • Applicants should have exceptional clinical experience post certification.
  • Strong management and communication skills, with experience in liaising, influencing and negotiating with people at all levels in an organisation.
  • Strong time-management skills with respect to managing a significant workload and achieving quality outcomes.
  • Willingness to participate in the supervision of ACPSEM TEAP registrars is essential.
