About the Role
Due to the further expansion of our Therapy services, applications are invited from suitably qualified professionals to join our specialist trans-disciplinary therapy Team, includes Psychologists, Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Specialist Teachers and Therapy Assistants.
Our Positive Behaviour Support Therapy Team works alongside individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families to provide intensive specialist support within a functional Behaviour framework, to maximise participation and inclusion for each individual.
This is an exciting position for a Psychologist who is committed to contemporary, positive and best practice approaches to behaviour support and thrives when working with a team that is dedicated to improving the lives of people with Autism and their families.
This position will be responsible for leading a team of Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists to implement a comprehensive positive behaviour support framework across a range of age groups from school aged children to adults. The Program leader will oversee the team to:
- Manage a complex caseload;
- development of individualised plans;
- behavioural assessment;
- designing and implementing positive behaviour support strategies; and
- providing specialist consultancy and training in Positive Behaviour Support to capacity build mainstream supports.
As a Leader, this position will contribute to the development and review of policy and procedures, and will work in close collaboration with Management to grow and develop the service as the program transitions into the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
Essential Criteria:
- Full registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist. .
- Demonstrated knowledge of evidence based practice in Autism Intervention
- A sound understanding of contemporary approaches to behaviour management e.g. Positive Behaviour Support
- Excellent written communication, including report writing and time management
- A demonstrated passion and experience working with people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Related Disabilities
- Significant experience in leading teams.
