The faculty provides a range of undergraduate & postgraduate degree programs in veterinary & associated disciplines and is a leader in animal welfare and ethics and has implemented several research-led approaches to learning and teaching and used these to showcase student output of high quality.
  
The Teaching hospitals provide the clinical learning experience for undergraduate students and staff engaged in professional training programs. The hospitals are commercial centres and provide a range of veterinary services to the public.
  
The University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (UVTHS) in Camperdown is seeking a Receptionist to provide exceptional customer service to Hospital clients, staff and students through the provision of high level reception, telephony and administrative duties.
  
To be successful in this position you will have:
  
  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent combination of relevant experience and training
  • previous experience in a customer service role within a veterinary hospital
  • excellent client communication and customer service skills including excellent telephone manner
  • strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • demonstrated organisational skills and strong attention to detail
  • ability to work in a busy environment and cope with emergency and stressful situations
  • proficient use in a range of computer programs (e.g. MS Word or Excel) with proficient data entry and typing skills
  • previous experience with banking and reconciliation procedures and medical records information systems
  • Willingness to work varying rostered shifts as required supporting the UVTHS activities, including weekends and public holidays.
  
This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident, professional and organised individual with strong customer service skills and attention to detail to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  
Shifts will include two 1pm-9pm shifts per week & 2 two shifts between 7am to 7pm. The successful candidate will be required to take part in covering public holidays and Sundays as required as well as to participate on additional shifts at times of sickness or holiday periods.
  
All staff employed by the University of Sydney must have the right to work in Australia. An employer visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  
  
This position is subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for new appointees.
