What you'll be doing Western Sydney Local Health District Mental Health Services is committed to building a professional workforce that supports consumers with a severe and persistent mental illness on their recovery journey. The primary purpose of this role is to provide person-centred recovery-oriented mental health service incorporating whole person approach and life course approach to people with chronic persistent mental illness and complex psychosocial needs living in Wester Sydney Local Health District Area. As the member of a multidisciplinary team this role is required to perform mental health triage, comprehensive mental health assessment, psychological and family interventions, and ongoing care co-ordination and discharge planning in collaboration with other services such as inpatient units, police, ambulance, government and non-government agencies, etc. A primary goal of this position is to work collaboratively with staff, consumers and other agencies (both within WSLHD and non-government organisations) to promote the effective participation in mental health treatment and recovery. This may include working on quality improvement and service delivery projects as part of the role. Essential Criteria: Vaccination Category: A Checks: National Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check License: Current NSW Driver’s License Qualification: Relevant tertiary qualifications as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, or Occupational Therapist or Social Worker. Registration: Demonstrated full registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, or Occupational Therapist OR for Social Workers, eligibility to be a member of the AASW. Selection Criteria: Demonstrated skills in mental health and discipline specific assessments and interventions and experience working with people with severe and persistent mental illness. Demonstrated understanding and ability to work within experience working in a team and/or knowledge of the principles that guide service delivery within this model of practice Demonstrated ability to collaborate meaningfully with consumers and carers with a commitment and understanding of recovery principles in mental health service provision. Demonstrated working knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act, 2007. Demonstrated excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and good interpersonal skills.
