Medacs are currently recruiting for a Clinical Coding Services Manager in Adelaide’s most reputable and innovative teaching hospital.
Job Competencies required:
- Qualifications in Health Information Management, Clinical Coding or equivalent (such as completed the HIMAA, Certificate IV, basic, intermediate or advanced certificates in clinical classification)
- Comprehensive knowledge and successful completion of a recognised ICD - 1- AM (10TH Edition) coding course with achievement of a high standard of accuracy
- Extenive experience within a teaching hospital Clinical Coding service
- Good knowledge of Australian Coding Standards, ICD Coding systems, medical terminology and casemix & DRG's
- A sound understanding of 3M Codefinder Software
- Knowledge/computer literacy skills)
- Ability to liaise with all levels of clinical and non-clinical staff
- Exposure to and a good understanding of continuous quality improvement principles and accreditation processes
- People management experience and exceptional leadership and mentoring skills

- Demonstrated organisational skills, confident and resourceful in approach
- Ability to adapt and lead in an evolving work environment
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Disciplined, organised, innovative and structured in work practice
