Salary: Remuneration package of up to $427,223 p.a (+ other applicable allowances/benefits) comprising salary range of $171,044 - $216,865 p.a. (L18-L27), 5 weeks recreational leave plus loading (17.5%), employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%), professional development assistance (leave and vocational training subsidy).

About the role

To provide high quality clinical and non-clinical services to benefit the patients of the Mental Health Service Group (MHSG). This includes research as well as teaching the health professionals of the future. Work in a collegial, multi-disciplinary team settings, within a supportive framework of peer and operational supports. Lead and manage the provision of medical services in accordance with the standard of the speciality, the ethics of the profession and in accordance with the Townsville Hospital and Health Service and Queensland Health (QH) policies, in a hospital, community and outreach setting.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Qualifications in Psychiatry, recognised by the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, and current registration with/or eligibility for registration as a Specialist with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Ongoing professional development relevant to the delivery of specialist Mental Health Services to maintain appropriate registration and/or association requirements is a requirement of all staff within the MHSG.
  • All applicants must be awarded Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) by the THHS Credentialing and SoCP committee. All appointments are subject to maintenance of SoCP within the Clinical Service Capability Framework for the facilities in which clinical work is to be undertaken.
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a class “C” motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required.
