About the Hospital

Mt Wilga Private Hospital is a 119 bed specialist rehabilitation facility, with a busy day therapy unit and outpatients department situated in Hornsby, a peaceful area of Sydney's Upper North Shore. Part of the Ramsay Health Care Group, Mt Wilga boasts an excellent clinical reputation as a leader in private rehabilitation, with large modern treatment areas, two hydrotherapy pools, and fully equipped gymnasiums. Mt Wilga offers comprehensive rehabilitation programs for patients presenting with a wide variety of conditions including orthopaedic, musculoskeletal, neurological, back and pain management, cardiac, amputee, reconditioning and lymphoedema.

About the Role

Our caseload consists of inpatient, day patient and outpatient rehabilitation. Speech Pathology responsibilities cover a diverse range of clinical areas including assessment, diagnosis and rehabilitation of acquired adult neurological communication and swallowing disorders.

In this role you will be required to:-

  • Provide a high level of clinical care to patients
  • Provide a high quality customer focused service
  • Contribute to quality improvement projects
  • Immediate start required

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant degree level qualifications in Speech Pathology
  • Minimum 1 year experience in an adult Speech Pathology role
  • Eligibility for membership to Speech Pathology Australia
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting assessments
  • Demonstrated experience working successfully in a multidisciplinary team
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and quality principles

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in working in a hospital environment / rehabilitation
  • LSVT LOUD Certification
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organise an effective clinical service to patients
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently manage a varied case load
  • Demonstrated problem solving capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to professional development and maintenance of current evidence based practice
  • Understanding of quality improvement principles
  • Flexible, positive approach to work
  • Available for regular weekly shifts and ability to assist with leave cover would be desirable
