Purpose of Position

Nursing Unit Manager, Braeside Hospital, Prairiewood.( NSW Health entitlements are transferrable)

  • Full-time position at Braeside Hospital
  • Palliative Care Inpatient Ward
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership & management

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) who will provide excellence in leadership in the Inpatient Palliative Care Unit at Braeside Hospital.

About the role

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager / Director of Nursing, the NUM is responsible for all nursing, clinical coordination and management of the Palliative Care Inpatient Unit, including staff and roster management. 
  • The NUM is a role model in promoting our philosophy of care which strongly supports patient choice and dignity.
  • The NUM liaises closely with other health professionals, community health teams family members and the public.
  • Comprehensive and ongoing training will be provided throughout your career with HammondCare.

About you

  • Commitment to engage and align with Hammond Care’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.
  • NSW Registered Nurse – List A
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Palliative Care service and/or tertiary qualifications or working towards the same
  • Tertiary qualifications in management or working towards the same or relevant work experience or combination of study and work experience
  • Leadership competency, willingness to drive change and provide leadership as required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Work Health Safety issues and Equal Employment Opportunity
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate clinical services
  • Coach/mentor staff to achieve professional growth and develop best practice principles in Palliative Care.
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of future directions for Palliative care.
