What you'll be doing The Nurse Unit Manager is in charge of a ward or unit and provides leadership and management of staff, services and resources to ensure delivery of safe, effective, quality nursing care. This role also provides a clinical caseload related to the role of Assessor for the Commonwealth Aged Care Assessment Program, Regional Assessment Service, and provides assessment and support for the Geriatric Medicine Program. Selection Criteria Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a licence to drive in NSW with the ability to drive regularly for work purposes.Extensive relevant post registration nursing experience and relevant post graduate qualifications.Demonstrated leadership and management skills. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of contemporary nursing professional and management issues.Demonstrated ability to facilitate professional development and clinical competence of nursing staff. Demonstrated understanding of managing nursing and resource allocations to deliver effectiveness and efficiency.Demonstrated highly developed information technology, communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to represent nurses, consult with staff, resolve conflict and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary health professionals.Demonstrated understanding of the development of policies and practices, including requirements of the National Safety & Quality Health Standards.
