The School of Health Professions currently comprises the disciplines of Nursing, Chiropractic and Counselling. The School is headquartered at the University’s Mandurah campus but offers a range of courses both at Mandurah and at the main Perth Campus.

The core undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered in the School are accredited by the relevant professional bodies and provide students with professional career entry pathways. The discipline areas are well resourced with nursing students having access to learning resources and clinical demonstration and simulation wards located on each campus.

The Role

This position has a strong teaching focus and makes a strong contribution to the teaching effort of the School across both Mandurah and South Street Campuses. The role assists with the coordination, preparation and delivery of simulated learning and case based inquiry activities, particularly at the undergraduate level. The Associate Lecturer in nursing also carries out activities to develop scholarly research and is expected to perform a limited range of administrative functions.        

Skills and Experience

  • Working towards a Master’s degree in an area relevant to appointment, with near completion or completion of the degree desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching, simulated learning environments and professional nursing practice, with relevant years of professional experience.
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary approaches to curriculum and pedagogy related to clinical nursing practice and simulated teaching and learning.
