Delmont Private Hospital is an 88 bed accredited private mental health facility with extensive Inpatient, Day Program, Outreach and specialist Consulting Suite.  In addition to general adult psychiatry, Delmont offers specific programs for Substance Use and Addiction and Aged Psychiatry.

We are seeking a full time Intake Clinician to join or Day Program Services

The DDP Intake Clinician is a central contact for Day Program Referrals and subsequent timely triage of subsequent Day Program Assessment bookings.

What you Need:

  • Aphra Registration
  • Registered Nurse – MINIMUM of 5 years experience in Acute Mental Health setting
  • Post basic qualifications in Advance Nursing/ Counselling
  • Demonstrated awareness of discharge/ admission processes relevant to Private Sector
  • Knowledge of Health Funding – highly desirable
  • Awareness of current treatment modalities in Day Program & Community Settings 
  • Previous experience in a similar role an advantage

Key Competencies & Skills:

  • Engagement & rapport with patients via phone and face to face.
  • Ability to provide care and service to people with complex mental health issues
  • Attention to detail and procedures, Time management
  • Excellent organisation & admin of DDP Assessment documentation & communication
  • Ability to Triage referrals from inpatients, Consulting Suites & GP’s, prioritise and allocation to appropriate groups.
  • Liaise with Psychiatrists, GP’s, other relevant nursing, medical and clinical agencies
  • Build, maintain and enhance workplace relationships
