The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator or experienced Medical Secretary that would love to join a new practice but only wanting to work 3 days per week.  

 

The Company

Our client is a Respiratory and Sleep Physician that has been practising at the SAN, Chris O’Brien and Westmead Private Hospitals. 

You will initially commence at Hornsby and then move into the new practice is opening at Wahroonga, which will consist of 3 consulting rooms and a Lung Function Lab.  The new practice will open in early 2019.

The practitioner’s areas of interest are lung cancer, pleural diseases, sleep medicine, interstitial lung diseases as well as airways disease including asthma, emphysema and bronchiectasis. 

You will be working in an environment that is dedicated to personal medicine and providing patients with the highest level of care and quality time. 

The medical software used is Clinic to Cloud.  

 

The Role

The role will initially commence 3 days per week working at the Hornsby practice (near Hornsby station), however on a Wednesday lunch time you will be required to conduct a clinic at Westmead Private Hospital.  

The main objective of the role is provide administration support to the Principal.  

The Principal is happy to train someone who has administration experience and has a desire to enter the medical industry.

The duties and responsibilities are:

  • Scheduling and effective management of patient bookings in the Clinic to Cloud software (new, follow up, recall and confirmation)
  • Co-ordinate bookings for bronchoscopy procedures
  • Provide information to patients on practice services and fees
  • Management of patient invoicing and receipting of consultations (Medicare, DVA, Workers Compensation) as well as invoicing of surgical procedures
  • Completion of end of day reconciliations (eftpos, credit card and cash)
  • Stock control and ordering
  • Dictaphone Typing of letters and reports Scanning, filing, mail/fax (retrieval and distribution) and photocopying
  • Scanning, faxing and mail

 

To be successful in this position, you will have the following attributes:-

  • Previous experience as a Medical Secretary is desirable, but not essential as willing to train in medical administration 
  • Professional, outstanding customer service skills and your work values compliment the culture of the organisation
  • A high level of proficiency with computer software programs
  • An accurate typist with a speed of 50wpm
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to be able to co-ordinate all aspects of running a business
  • A high level of communication and interpersonal skills to be able to interact with all levels of people
