The Forensic Hospital is an integral part of the Forensic Mental Health Network and is operated by the Justice Health & Forensic Mental Health Network. Located at Malabar this purpose-built 135-bed facility provides high-quality specialised care to male and female, young people and adult forensic patients, in a high-secure therapeutic environment. The Forensic Hospital currently has a permanent full time Mental Health Care Worker position available for a person with previous experience or a genuine interest in working with people with a mental illness and a genuine interest in providing diversional activities.
The Mental Health Care Worker provides practical support services to aid clinical staff within the multidisciplinary team. This role involves the monitoring of the patient environment and needs under the supervision of clinical staff. In coordination with the multidisciplinary teams, the Mental Health Care Worker will be involved in the initiation of appropriate general service delivery and providing mental health care while maintaining the safety and security of the patients and staff in the Forensic Hospital.
