About the facility
Barwon Health based in Geelong, Victoria, is one of the largest and most comprehensive regional health services in Australia. We are a major teaching hospital and have an active and growing research base.
Barwon Mental Health Drugs and Alcohol Service (MHDAS) provides integrated and recovery oriented mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, mental health and drug and alcohol issues and their families.
About the role
To provide contemporary education within an evidence framework, integrating principles of transformational learning, values base teaching and practice development concepts, in line with the Barwon Health values and MHDAS Model of Care. This will be evidenced by the facilitation of leading edge teaching and learning opportunities that support the translation of theory into clinical practice environments and enable staff in developing knowledge and skill proficiency, critical thinking and reasoning skills.
