An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic Hepatobiliary & Transplantation Retrieval/Research Fellow to join our Hepatobiliary & Transplantation unit in 2019.
Details of Department
The Hepatopancreatobiliary & Transplant Surgery Unit is part of the Division of Surgery, Anaesthesia & Procedural Medicine. It is responsible for the provision of services within the specialty to patients across Austin Health, situated at Austin Hospital and Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital. The Head of Unit is Professor Chris Christophi.
Details of position/position requirements
The objective of this position is to provide a Hepato-biliary/ Transplant General Surgery Fellow role to:
- Expand training in HPB, transplant and general surgery.
- Provide specific training in organ retrieval to reach independent operating
- Engage in research activities and preferably enrol in Masters of Surgery UOM
- Provide Leave cover for Unit consultants either for outpatients or theatre.
- Provide support and teaching to resident and Registrar medical staff through direction and management of patients and
- To support emergency work to be done in hours.
To be successful in this role you must:
- Demonstrate a commitment to Austin Health values.
- Be a registered Medical Practitioner in Australia.
- Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or its equivalent, and
- Have appropriate training and experience applicable to the field of Hepatobiliary & Transplant Surgery.
