Our client, a Mental Health hospital provides and coordinates a comprehensive range of health care services . These include major clinical programs , mental health, drug and alcohol, women’s health, aboriginal health, population health and adolescent health.
The primary objective of the organisation is to provide a high secure environment to assess, manage and care for patients in line with national and international best practice, while continuing to maintain the safety of the general community.
The responsibilities of the role include:
• Day to day social work within a high secure environment
• Effective social work and welfare service delivery to the clients and their families using a range of clinical and professional interventions
• Case formulation and psycho-social interventions in the management of complex cases
• Provide mental health, social, financial, rehabilitation and behavioural management in the development of more effective interventions
Experience desired:
• At least 2 years post graduation experience, and current registration with AASW
• Demonstrated experience and skills in social work and broad generalist experience
• Psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, trauma counselling, grief and bereavement counselling
• Understanding of current issues impacting on social work and welfare work in an acute hospital setting
