About the Role

The Clinical Nurse – Electroconvulsive Therapy and Quality Coordination is responsible for delivering quality nursing care at an advanced level that requires a broad developing knowledge in professional issues within a specified field of practice. Provide direction and support to other nursing staff while promoting professional standards of practice and conduct, and is responsible for achievement of unit goals and standards. Be responsible for the coordination and standard of care to patients receiving Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT), and provide quality coordination and support to the Inpatient Academic Clinical Units in consultation with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and Assistant Director of Nursing. Provide support to the ward at the discretion of the NUM and only after completion of the ECT caseload, or in the event there are no cases booked.

  • Provide clinical and professional support in consultation with the NUM in providing a common vision/goal for the unit.
  • Advanced assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation skills in the clinical management of consumer care and participation in multidisciplinary care planning.
  • Monitor clinical staff capabilities and act in the role of preceptor and mentor to beginning practitioners to develop their potential, conducting performance planning and review programs for clinical staff as delegated.
