WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA) is the peak planning and commissioning body for primary health care services in Western Australia (WA).

We oversee the strategic commissioning functions WA's three Primary Health Networks: Perth North, Perth South and Country WA.

WAPHA's primary objective is to improve health outcomes and patient experiences through the commissioning of appropriate services where they are most needed.

The role

This newly created position leads the implementation of the National Psychosocial Support measure in WA. The project has three parts: Transition of fund holding for Partners in Recovery (PIR), Personal Helpers and Mentors (PHaMS), and Day to Day Living Programs to Primary Health Networks; transition of eligible people with a serious and persistent  mental illness to NDIS through lead agencies or to Continuity of Support arrangements; and commissioning appropriate psychosocial supports for eligible people with a severe and persistent mental illness.

Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Working closely to the project plan and adjusting as required;
  • Working closely with the Project Control Group (PCG) to monitor progress, allocate responsibilities and develop and review workplans;
  • Developing, mobilising and implementing as necessary key project and/or significant workflows within WAPHA and other key project partners;
  • Liaison with project partners and management of stakeholder engagement activities to facilitate broad sector participation;
  • Ensuring regular project communication, including preparing written materials and providing presentations;
  • Ensuring Department of Health reports are submitted on time;
  • Identify and manage project risks, including developing appropriate and timely mitigation strategies;
  • Providing all necessary preparation and support for the PCG; and
  • Monitoring and evaluating the outcomes of each project phase.

About you

The successful candidate will meet the following selection criteria:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in human service delivery, project management or other relevant qualification
  • Demonstrated project management skills with experience in using a planning, improvement, audit and quality related focus and to provide effective project governance;
  • Ability to work independently and use professional judgment in managing complex matters;
  • Highest standard of report writing skills;
  • Experience delivering presentations and information to a wide audience;
  • Demonstrated highly developed skills in interpersonal communication including presentation skills;
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills in order to develop strategies, ideas and opportunities for resolving issues;
  • Proficiency with/literacy of information and communication technology including word processing, software packages and spreadsheets; and
  • Demonstrated experience to work effectively as part of a team.

This role is on a 12 month contract.
