Purpose of Position
Provide clinical management and treatment of patients of the Rehabilitation Service within the scope of practice granted by the MNCLHD Medical & Dental Appointments Advisory Committee. The role includes:-
- Admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient and on call specialty services as determined and required by the MNCLHD
- Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
- Participation in research, quality activities, professional development and continuing education
- Clinical service delivery in General Adult Rehabilitation Inpatient, Outpatient and Community based services. The incumbent will not necessarily be across all three services at the same time.
- Committment to the on-call roster as required.
Payment will be in accordance with NSW Health Policy Directives, Awards and Determinations for Visiting Medical Officers and Staff Specialists.
Selection Criteria
A Primary Medical Degree registrable with the Medical Board of Australia and with current Authority to Practice with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Fellowship of the Australian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians [FAFRM (RACP)] or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialist’s State Award Demonstrated Rehabilitation Medicine skills in clinical service delivery including, rehabilitation goals and management plans (including transition to the community) for a broadly based patient case mix Demonstrated interest in training, research education and academic process Have a proactive attitude in relation to planning and developing community based rehabilitation services Excellent organisational, communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as a member of a multi disciplinary team
