About the business
Health & Wellbeing North Ward is an Integrative and Holistic Medical practice situated between Castlehill and the Strand in Townsville.
Established in 2007, we outgrew our previous premises and recently relocated to 34 Gregory Street, our very own Purpose Built Practice.
Our Doctors work with onsite Allied Health Practitioners, Registered Nurses and Administration support staff to ensure all aspects of health & wellbeing are covered.
About the role
Because of the differing interests which each of our GPs have developed over time, and also thanks to the ancillary services we offer, we cover mental health, family care, toddlers and child healthcare, skin cancer care, sexual healthcare, gender-appropriate care, alcohol and drugs rehabilitation care and integrative/nutritional medicine care. Our practice represents a good mix of ages and ethnic backgrounds.
Because of our Indigenous Health focus, we see many more Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander patients than your main-stream general practice. We also have Refugees and Southern Europe people from previous generations of migrants.
We have children from neighboring primary schools and we also see students of mixed ethnic background, from local boarding schools.
This results in a wide variety of presentations which includes acute illness as well as chronic disease care.There is limited emergency medicine.
