An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Scrub/Scout nurse with a commitment to clinical education and professional development to provide clinical education to new graduates and Theatre staff.

Be a part of something bigger

As the Nurse Educator - Operating Theatres you will play a key role in ensuring the planning, development and teaching of nursing education at the hospital are well thought out and executed.

Key responsibilities:

Plan, develop and deliver nursing education courses/programs within the hospital
Coordinate and provide hands on educational support and clinical teaching/facilitation and orientation to all staff, graduate nurses & students
Provide expert clinical education and leadership, expert advice, guidance and support to all staff of the department
Promote a high standard of evidence based nursing care to all patients, through dissemination of current best practice knowledge
Supervise staff compliance to annual Mandatory Training and completion of eLearning components
Coordinate and assist with delivery of mandatory training including delivering basic life support and manual handling training
Ensure best practice competency based programs are available and assessment of staff competencies
Work in liaison with local universities and accredited training providers to oversee undergraduate students or direct entry student placements

Opening 30 October 2018, Northern Beaches Hospital will be a fully licensed private hospital, providing care to public and private patients from an outstanding facility with a large range of quality services provided by exceptional nurses, doctors and staff.

You will bring to our high-performing team:

Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA
Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
Certificate IV workplace training and Assessment (TAE) (or working towards)
Post Graduate nursing qualifications relevant to the clinical area (or equivalent)
Minimum of 4 years in area of clinical practice
Effective presentation skills
Advanced life support certification
Able to influence nursing and hospital practice to achieve excellent clinical outcomes
Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
High degree of computer literacy including Microsoft Office
Prior experience in the private healthcare system will be well regarded
