ABOUT THE ROLE:
This an exciting time to be joining Werribee Mercy as our services expands. We are opening an additional 6 theatres supported by a new CSD and DOS admission and recovery unit, 2 additional Medical and Surgical Wards and an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in a brand new, modern building.
The Private Patient Liaison Officer (PPLO) identifies private, compensable patients and patients not eligible for Medicare. They assist patients in understanding the benefits to Werribee Mercy Hospital of utilising their private health insurance.
- Permanent part time 32 hours per fortnight – weekend shifts (Saturday & Sunday) – 6 hour shifts
- Flexibility to work Monday to Friday to cover leave
- Patient Services Department, Werribee Mercy Hospital
ABOUT YOU:
- Experience working in a health care setting & understanding of the use Private Health Insurance in a public hospital.
- Strong customer service focus and excellent conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated administrative and, Microsoft Office skills. iPM desirable
- A motivated and “can-do” attitude with the ability to learn quickly and go the extra mile
- Maintain the confidentiality of information and always respect the right to privacy
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and utilise discretion,
- To meet deadlines, prioritise and work as an efficient team member

Our services include surgical, medical, maternity, newborn, renal dialysis, emergency, mental health, rehabilitation, aged and palliative care. The hospital is currently undergoing significant expansion with a number of exciting capital projects currently underway, including an $85 million State Government funded redevelopment that will deliver a new critical care unit and take the total number of beds to 298.
