An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic and motivated Registered Nurse who is searching for a long term career within our Intensive Care Unit.
As an ICU nurse at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital you will demonstrate a commitment to quality care and ensure the best patient outcomes. You will enjoy a challenge, be passionate about utilising evidence based practice within ICU and thrive in working within a varied and fast paced environment.
You will perform duties with the support and guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse and Shift Leaders to ensure a high level of quality patient care is delivered in line with the core values and the strategic direction of the Hospital and Ramsay Health Care.
We are offering permanent part time hours 48 hours per fortnight (12hr shifts) to the successful candidate working across a rotating roster throughout Monday to Sunday day and night shifts.
The applicant will possess the following:
- Relevant registration with AHPRA
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in ICU with an ICU post registration qualification
- Understanding of scope of practice in line with relevant registration
- Ability to assess, evaluate and react to care delivery needs of the patient
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently as required
- Ability to plan and prioritise and coordinate patient care
- Demonstrated exceptional customer service
- Excellent time management skills
- Knowledge of legislative requirements in relation to nursing practice
Desirable
- Critical Care Certificate
- Current Advanced Life Support certificate

Facilities include 6 state-of-the-art operating theatres, two cardiac catheter laboratories, a minor procedure room, a day surgery unit, an 8 bed intensive care unit, a 3 bed Coronary care unit and an 8 chair day treatment unit. Medical consulting suites are located onsite together with comprehensive pathology and radiology services. Other onsite facilities include a retail pharmacy and coffee shop.
Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital will be collocated with the future public hospital, Sunshine Coast Public University Hospital, on the Kawana Health Campus.
Until September 2018, the private hospital will also treat public patients under contract to the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service, to assist in meeting demand of the newly opened public hospital, Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
