Allergy & Immunology Registrar/Fellow

 

The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Melbourne is one of the world’s great children’s hospitals.

 

The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) provides secondary and tertiary care to children and young people across the northern and western suburbs; specialist paediatric healthcare to the children of Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and parts of South Australia; and is the designated statewide provider of services including paediatric trauma, rehabilitation and forensic medicine. As a quarternary centre for complex cardiac surgery and organ transplantation, the RCH cares for the sickest children from around Australia.


We are the major hospital based specialist paediatric allergy immunology service in Victoria. We also provide specialist care for children from Tasmania and southern New South Wales, and other states around Australia and internationally.

This position is accredited for either RACP or joint RACP/RCPA Allergy-Immunology training, providing experience in paediatric clinical and laboratory allergy-immunology training.

The RCH Department of Allergy and Immunology provides secondary and tertiary outpatient and inpatient care for children with allergic and immune disorders in Victoria. This includes children with immune deficiency and recurrent infection, as well as children with eczema, asthma, allergic rhinitis and food, drug, insect sting or latex allergy causing moderate to severe allergic reactions (including anaphylaxis).

We deliver the highest quality clinical care to children and families with allergic and immune disorders. We are committed to increasing awareness, understanding and knowledge of allergic and immune disorders in the community and amongst health professionals through education, teaching and training. We play a leadership role in the development and improvement of health care policies and guidelines related to allergic and immune disorders. We also actively identify and pursue research priorities to prevent and improve management of these conditions.

Please note that the successful applicant will be required to undergo a police and working with children check. In addition, all International Medical Graduate applicants will need to have passed their IELTS test (results must indicate a score of 7 or above in all bands) in order to be successful in this position.
