We are currently arranging interviews for experienced Breast Surgeons for a hospital on the coast of Queensland.
The Hospital
The General Surgery team at this hospital are looking to grow and expand their Breast Surgery service. This hospital has 305 beds and is the main referral hospital in Central Queensland, serving a population of over 250,000. It is also home to the new integrated cancer care service. The Central Queensland Rural Clinical School is based here and provides training for medical students from the University of Queensland. A wide range of services are offered, including, Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Palliative Care, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics.
The Location:
This hospital is located on the coast of Central Queensland, approximately 600km from Brisbane. There are regular flights to Brisbane which only take one hour. It is one of the oldest cities in Queensland and has a population of over 80,000. It is the industrial and agricultural centre of the north and is also a large tourist destination due to its proximity to the Capricorn Coast.
Along with being a major centre for health, this city is also the main centre on the Central Queensland Coast for education. It has numerous state and private schools, along with the Central Queensland University. If you are looking to get a taste for tropical Australia this is an amazing location to have as a base. This region boasts some of the most pristine beaches found anywhere in the world and is known for being one of the gateways to the Great Barrier Reef.
